In order to use the Services, we will ask you to register an account and provide your email address, and we will receive a display name if your sign-in provider supplies one. As you use the App, we record your reading and listening progress, the summaries you complete, and the statistics we build from that activity. Our analytics provider also derives data from your device on its own, including platform, operating system version, device model, mobile carrier, language, region, city determined from your IP address, app version, and the vendor identifier (IDFV). We need this data to provide our services, keep your account secure, and analyze how our customers use the service.
To provide and improve our service, we use third-party solutions. As a result, we may process data using solutions developed by Google (Firebase Authentication) and Amplitude, together with our hosting providers and the app stores through which the App is distributed. Some of the data is stored and processed on servers of such third parties. This enables us to: (1) sign you in and keep your session secure across your devices; (2) analyze different interactions (how far users get through a summary, which categories are opened most often, how much time is spent listening rather than reading). Consequently, we, in particular, better understand which of our summaries and features you see the most value in and are able to focus on them to enhance your experience and increase the quality of our products.
Please read our Privacy Policy below to know more about what we do with data (Section 2), with whom we share it (Section 4), what data privacy rights are available to you (Section 6), how you can delete your account (Section 7), and who will be the data controller (Section 17). The App, as it currently stands, does not display advertising and does not collect an advertising identifier; Section 5 explains this and how we will tell you if it changes. If any questions remain unanswered, please contact us at [email protected].
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data is collected when you use the Siftmind mobile application (the "App"), and related services (together, the "Services"), and how such personal data is used, shared or otherwise processed.
BY USING THE SERVICES, YOU CONFIRM THAT (I) YOU HAVE READ, UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY, AND (II) YOU ARE OVER 16 YEARS OF AGE (OR HAVE HAD YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN READ AND AGREE TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY FOR YOU). If you do not agree, or are unable to give this confirmation, you must not use the Services. In that case, you should (a) delete your account using the in-app account deletion function in "Settings", or contact us and request deletion of your data; and (b) delete the App from your device(s).
In this Policy: "GDPR" means Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data. "EEA" includes all current member states of the European Union and the European Economic Area; for the purposes of this Policy the EEA is treated as including the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. "Process", in respect of personal data, includes collecting, storing, using and disclosing to others.
We collect the data you provide when you create an account, the data your sign-in provider passes to us, and a limited set of data collected automatically when you use the App.
You can register and sign in using Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, or an email address and password. Sign-in and session management are handled on our behalf by Firebase Authentication, a Google Cloud service. For each user, we store:
If you use Sign in with Apple, you may choose to share your real email address or to use Apple's "Hide My Email" private relay service. We support relay addresses and will use them to contact you if that is what you choose to share.
If you register with an email address and password, password resets are handled by Firebase Authentication via email. We do not have access to your password in readable form.
To learn how Apple and Google process data in connection with sign-in, see the Apple Privacy Policy and the Google Privacy Policy, and the sign-in disclosure screens those providers show you.
We record your interaction with the content so the App can work as intended and so you can see your own statistics. This includes your reading and listening progress, which summaries you have completed, and aggregate personal statistics derived from that activity. This data is stored against your account on our backend.
